Introducing...

My Family!

My Husband

I am married to my Love, my Best Friend. He's sweet, smart, and inspiring. And so very steady. He grounds me when I'm about to fly away. He calms me when I'm about to explode. He knows me well and yet still loves me. I am so blessed by him.

He's not very fashionable. My Girl has taken it upon herself to correct this. She will soon learn that it's a hopeless cause. ;) But that's ok... his fashion is his very own and endearing.

He Loves to read. If you happen to see him sitting in a corner by himself staring at his phone please don't worry. He's not in a daze, he's just reading. I'm pretty sure digital books on his phone are his favorite thing ever. They've saved his poor introverted self from being completely overwhelmed many times!

He is a giver. Be very excited if he ever draws your name in a gift exchange. He delights in giving gifts and he does it SO WELL. I don't even try to compete with him anymore. He always gives the best gifts!

He's a fantastic daddy. My Boy and My Girl adore him! And he spoils them to pieces. The day-to-day, nitty-gritty, down-and-dirty parenting is mostly my job. But I know he's got my back when I need it.

My Boy

My firstborn. He made me a mama. And he shattered all my expectations of how successful I would be as a mama! This is an incredibly hard and exhausting job. I have always loved kids and I thought I would naturally be a really great mom. And then I had My Boy! He taught me to lean heavily on God's grace, to cover my children in prayer, and to persevere when I feel dead on my feet.

My Boy is so tender-hearted and empathetic. He has a heart for people. He gets that from his dad. He surprises me with how insightful he can be. This also makes him an AMAZING Big Brother! My Girl cannot get enough of him and follows his every move.

He's FUNNY! Not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh. He gets that from me. :)

He's so smart! I am blessed to be the one who watches him soak up knowledge. The cutest thing in the world is when he's explaining something that he's just learned and so passionately excited about! He loves nature, science, and violin. He says he wants to be a scientist someday. His specialty varies from day to day... some days he wants to be a herpetologist, some days a marine biologist, and other days a paleontologist. But, I could totally see any of them (or all of them) happening!

My Girl

My Baby. She is ALL girl. With a good mix of Tomboy thrown in. She loves pink and purple, sparkles and glitter, a cute new outfit and shoes. But she also loves to dig in the mud and hold cockroaches and snakes.

She loves music. She's already asked when she can take violin like My Boy. She's always yelling from the backseat of the car to have the radio turned up. It's never quite loud enough for her! She loves to dance and, in her mind, the best part of a movie is the credits... dance party time! I can't wait to see if this love develops into a passion as she grows.

She adores all things puppy. Someday she will have one of her very own, but for now she squeals with delight whenever she comes into contact with someone else's. Her stuffed animal collection is quite extensive and full of puppies!

My Girl is passionate. She feels things deeply and can be quite a spit-fire when things don't go her way. She knows what she wants and she will do all she can to get it. I say that is a character trait that will serve her well... if she survives long enough to channel it productively! ;) She challenges me and pushes my buttons better than anyone else. And I love it. One of my favorite William Shakespeare quotes is "And though she be but little, she is fierce". It describes My Girl so perfectly!
